Sardine – Madison WI – 617 Williamson St
For an upscale, relaxing brunch after the farmers market, the husband and I headed to Sardine. Not too far of a walk from the downtown action.
It was a gorgeous day so we sat on the patio overlooking lake Monona.
View from our table on the patio.
The husband enjoyed brioche French toast, with blackberry compote, crème fraiche, lemon zest and pure maple syrup. Just the right mix of compote to bread.
I choose an omelette. Arugula, brie, crimini mushrooms and scallions. Served with mixed greens and frites. Light fluffy eggs wrapped around fresh ingredients. The mushrooms were gently sautéed. The arugula must have been added at the last moments, because they were gently warmed and wilted.
