Monday Morning Late Breakfast at Milk & Honey Nashville, TN

After I get a well deserved sleep in Monday. (I’m on vacation after all. The husband is already up dressed and taking care of work emails.) He and I take a short walk from the hotel to The Gulch area.

Today we are trying Milk & Honey and it does not disappoint. (Two out of two in The Gulch. Odds are improving on this trip.)

Dinner at Merchants – Downtown Nashville, TN

Merchants – 401 Broadway, Nashville, TN

Step in the door and see an inviting room of black & white tile floors, white walls, exposed brick, black seated booths along with a few tables. The tables are thick swirled marble set with linen napkins and corked glass bottle of chilled water. All of which is flanked around a large fully stocked bar that also doubles as places to eat. The staff was friendly, from the hosts to the waiter.  Speaking of waiters, they are smartly dressed in black pants, white buttoned down shirts with a black tie and, of course, a properly tied apron to pull the look together. This downstairs bistro has it all!

Today is “Road Tripp’n Day”, but first breakfast.

While doing my pre-trip research I found a place called Biscuit Love.  Previously an airstream food truck, turned into three brick-and-mortar locations.  They open early for breakfast and stay open through late lunch.  Specializing in made from scratch biscuits of course. Their creations are homemade and use locally sourced ingredients. … Perfect!

Just landed in Nashville Tennessee. Lunch at Stock & Barrel.

Stock & Barrel901 Gleaves St, Nashville, TN

The husband has a short conference in Nashville and lucky me gets another “tag-along” trip to a new city. Since the conference starts Monday, we leave early on Saturday so we can have the weekend to explore.

After claiming our bags and picking up our rental car we head to an area, not too far from our hotel, called The Gulch. From what I’ve read online this is newer “urban renewal area” a several block area with plenty of mixed use space, hotels, apartments & condos above while shopping and restaurants at street level. (Oh and parking garages, minimum street parking and a few lots. Most are 1st hour free parking, $4/hr there after.

Hungry for a late lunch, we chose Stock and Barrel. According to their website they use locally sourced beef and ingredients.  Just our kind of place. Looks like the perfect way to start our trip.
